Emergency: "Lumbago" or "sciatica"
Lie flat on the back with the hip and knee joints at a 90° angle supported by a stack of pillows or cushions under the lower legs.

External treatment application:
Pain ointment; if the pain is acute it is better to avoid heat patches or electric blankets, as they may be too hot. You can try a cooling application (ice or cooled curds). Also try a light massage and/or a warm bath (for example, with a rheumatism bath additive).

Internal treatment application:
Do not take aspirin as it thins the blood and your physician may need to give you an injection later; Take a sleeping aid at night if desired.
